This year Anita was appointed as the inaugural Executive Director of the SA National Fashion Council, whose aim is to assist with the development of the fashion value chain in South Africa. This includes retailers, media, design houses, designers, fashion education, clothing manufacturers, textiles manufacturers and finishers, and suppliers.

Anita has spent the last 23 years working in various areas of the fashion industry – in factories, as a retail area manager, a clothing lecturer, and in business-turnaround consulting. Until recently, Anita was Deputy Director for Clothing and Textiles, as well as the Acting Director over Manufacturing Industry Development for the Department of Economic Development & Tourism, within the Western Cape Government.
