Creating Engaging Experiences for Brands
Marc Nicolson studied industrial design at CPUT and has been working at Rocketfuel for four years as head designer, completing numerous designs and projects for major local and international brands. He’s simultaneously been running Thingking for five years with co-founder Lyall Sprong, a consultancy that helps realise clients’ aspirations through an ideation, design and manufacturing process.
Thinking has won numerous awards, including Best Stand Design at COP17 for the Department of Environmental Affairs and Best Stand for World Wildlife Fund at the Cycle Expo. In addition, the company was responsible for making the world’s first Twitter-activated vending machine (for BOS). Other projects include creating a mind-reading vending machine for Castle Lite, an interactive taste and smell activator for Johnny Walker, an interactive giant speedometer for Mini Cooper, and a three-kilometre-long interactive outdoor website for Toyota RAV4.
