Designing for the Environment
Architect Sean Mahoney joined architecture and urban design firm StudioMAS in 2004, opening the Cape Town office after business partner Pierre Swanepoel opened the Joburg studio in 2000.
StudioMAS has worked on a wide range of award-winning public and private projects – from large-scale urban projects like the Walter Sisulu Square of Dedication to smaller ventures such as Courtyards on Oxford, Circa art gallery and 17 Glen. They all share a common thread of simple logic combined with creativity, richness and beauty strongly influenced by their landscape.
Sean calls his home a suburban ‘farm’, where you’ll find family, chickens, a permaculture food forest and a reed-bed pool.
